I am impressed that Jeff actually made me feel like I could accomplish this. I did have a few challenges- first of all, would have been nice to know to NOT microwave chilis- had to air the house for a few hours and thought i would perish from the oils in the air! GASP!! My second challenge is that my husband is allergic to tomato seeds- I cannot use any pico or sauces with tomato seeds, so no tomatillos or diced tomatos. I substituted tomato paste and Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale- and of course had no chilipeppers to use (they had to leave the house but it still was a solid based dinner. I did make it as a sandwhich and it was a hit with hubby- which is what matters to me. Thank you Jeff for the inspiration, and please don't hold back hints like "do not nuke the chilis!" I have a lot to learn and look forward to your lessons and ideas!

    YUM! YUM YUM!
I have been ordering Mole for years, it is one of my favorite dishes in a Mexican restaurant. I have never tried making it, thinking it was too difficult-"27 spices and chocolate" was how I always heard it explained...but this recipe was easy, we had most of the ingredients in the house except the chilies. Have been tasting it all afternoon. We don't think it needs to be a sandwich (sorry Jeff .... my husband Gary may do the sandwich-I am Gluten Free, so I was going for the bowl!.
Our only problem was with the blender....we have the same kind you do, and it may have been too full or too hot, but it sort of exploded all over the wall counter, floor, fruit basket and spice rack......oh well-they all needed a wipe down anyway!

    I'm ready to dig in!

Not only was this this recipe easy to make, but it was truly delicious. I was marooned at home with only a few ingredients in my refrig. Now, what to make for dinner? I saw "Sandwich King" on our DVR[ come on, who can watch live shows any way? Get with real life, producers AND Ad guys!] . I recalled how likable and HILARIOUS this guy was. I had the ingredients to make a fabulous meal in my own kitchen. It was spectacular. My husband brought some left overs to the office. Fellow workers came a' sniffing to my husband's desk, wondering WHAT WAS HE EATING? Thank you Sandwich King for the scrumptious rescue. Not only are the recipes easy to recreate but Jeff Mauro has us laughing our heads off. My son told me his Greek recipes are a snap to make and out of this world. Love this show for multiple reasons. Very informative as well as entertaining. We all CAN make any sandwich into a meal and a meal into a sandwich...or whatever his line is! Love this show!

Made this today and thought it was excellent; the use of tomatillo salsa and mole together may not be authentic or traditional, but it works! In fact, my husband and I both felt that the condiments truly did enhance and improve the flavor of the overall sandwich. Be prepared, though, it is messy AND a bit time-consuming. 5 stars for flavor, 3+ stars for preparation: 4 stars for the final dish.

Jeff, Do you ever make a bad sandwich? I have yet to try any of your recipes that are not 5 stars. The sauces and condiments are ALWAYS excellent and just make everything complete. Your rendition of a mole' sauce is absolutely perfect...we shall name it "Jeff's Quick Mole' " My whole family loves every sandwich recipe...thank you for helping us make our new goal of 300 lbs each....jk.
