This is a brilliant take on the grilled cheese, which is a staple in our house. And i've never been patient enough to make poppers. This really captures two beautiful concepts-- the total is greater than the sum of its parts: crispy, then creamy, tangy, chewy. Wow. Great one Jeff! Thanks. Switch around your cheeses and breads if you must, but stay true to the instructions on blistering the japapeno.

Delicious! Other than using sourdough bread, I followed the recipe exactly. It really does taste like a jalapeno popper but in sandwich form. For those who enjoy grilled cheese sandwiches, I highly suggest this recipe!

Yummy! I made this for lunch today and boy was it good. Creamy, gooey and delicious. I have a newly planted pepper plant so now I know what I can make with them. Thanks Jeff for a great recipe.

I didn't really follow this recipe exactly b/c I was going off memory. I didn't do anything to the jalapeno's except thinly slice and de-seed. I used cream cheese instead (b/c it's SO much cheaper, I used regular whole wheat bread. And mild cheddar. So, if it was this amazing not following the recipe, I can only imagine if I followed it. And it tasted just like a jalapeno popper!!! So good.

This sandwich was delicious! All the flavors really blended well together. We subbed out white bread and used sourdough. It was still crunchy. We had a side of homemade tomato soup to balance but my husband still broke out it a sweat from the heat.

My husband and I enjoyed this sandwich. The fire & kick from the roasted jalapeno and the creaminess of the marscapone made this awesome! For me, the butter on the bread made it rich but was VERY YUMMY!
