There aren't a lot of ingredients, and you can taste each one with none overwhelming the others. Simple and delicious.

I wanted to like this; I really did. Everyone in my house really disliked the sweetness of the fig spread. I threw away a lot of sandwiches last night. The rest of the sandwich as good though.

Delicious! Even my family of 5 picky eaters raved. Thanks for the opportunity to introduce the complexity of sweet and savory organized in something so basic as this sandwich

This was delicious and simple to make. I look forward to using the fig spread in other recipes.

This sandwich proves that simple can be delightful ! I was so eager to make this - and when I could not find dried figs in the stores in my area, I scraped the center out of fig cookies...(the spread turned out great
Finally, I was able to find the figs and re-made the spread - I now keep a small container of it in my fridge and use it on a variety of sandwiches !

What an unusual and delightful sandwich! The flavors all come together in one fantastic combination of sweet, tangy and savory. I had a difficult time getting focaccia bread in my area,so I used our DiCamillo's Bakery, italian bread instead, and it worked out beautifully! I really can't wait to try all of your sandwiches Jeff, you are awesome! I will watch for more of your delicious ideas!!!!! Welcome to the Food Network family!!!!!

This sandwich was delicious! Hard to believe that neither my fiance or I had ever had mortadella before, but we both wanted to try it after seeing this show. I used homemade foccacia bread, mortadella, fontinella and the fig spread. YUM! This is a definite keeper.

Jeff, my husband and I both were exclaiming "BOOM" as we bit into this sandwich!!! We rooted for you the whole season and we're SO GLAD you won!!!! My husband doesn't really watch FN but loved catching the FN Star episodes with me and made sure I put your show in our DVR lineup!!!! You are so relate-able and you've made my hubby excited about cooking and preparing sandwiches!!! Keep up the good work!

Excellent sandwich!! Will make this again for sure! The sweetness of the fig spread was a nice contrast to the saltiness of the meat and cheese. Sooooo good.
