This was totally amazing!!!! Time consuming but well worth it.... Not sure y ppl said it collapsed in the water bath??? Followed the directions to the letter!!! And got great results!!! This is definitely a keeper..... Next going to figure out how to do pigs in a blanket w this dough!!!!

12/30/12.... Just made this again!!!! It is well worth the time that the dough takes to make these!!! Think I will try kielbasa or spicy sausages on the buns next

Tasted delicious, but the pretzels were really time-consuming. Next time I will make smaller and more buns. The store didn't have any velveta so I bought pre-made queso and added the jalapenos to it along with some finely diced red onions. I will definitely try wrapping the dough around the dog and baking the entire thing next time!

These are delicious! The buns turned out to be fairly large - so next time I will make them a little smaller and get more than 8. The only trouble I had with "falling apart" was when they were too big. Easy, just take some time. But they taste SO good. Great with the dogs and nacho sauce - but also thinking of other things to put on them!

I, too, ended up with flat rolls. Although, the flavor was great. Would love pointers on how to get them to stay higher. Mine flattened out when I went to pick them up to put in the baking soda bath. As a test, I also tried brushing a few of them with a baking soda wash. They kept their height better, however we missed the chewiness and the nice brown color that the bath gives them.

Pretzels fell apart in the baking soda bath, what a mess and waste of a lot of time. Very disappointed as other reviewers said they were great...

Very tasty and fun to eat and serve. I did however, have the flattening problem with my pretzel buns. They also came apart in the baking soda bath so instead I brushed the baking soda/water onto the dough and they turned out a lot better.

My 13 year old son saw the episode where Jeff made this and begged me to try it. He and I both love to cook so we decided to make it together and it turned out great! It was like eating your ballpark favorites... a hot dog, pretzel, and nachos all in one. The bread particularly was my favorite... came out even better than I had hoped. Definitely would make again!

My husband and I loved this recipe! We made extra pretzels to use on other sandwiches and they were fantastic with just about everything. Definitely a keeper!

OMG! I've made homemade soft pretzels before but the pretzel bun recipe here is far superior to any I'd used in the past. Soft & airy inside with an outside chewy pretzel crust. The nacho cheese sauce was delicious over the hot dog and make the sandwich complete. A big hit with the family! Will make this again for sure.
