Super flavorful! Ours were very spicy but part of that was we just happened to get a spicy batch of poblanos (I rubbed my nose after chopping them and was ON FIRE!. The chorizo was yummy and messy, the poblanos added an extra kick, and the crema had that amazing acidity from the lime that cut through the richness of the meat. Keep up the great work Jeff! The butter garlic oven fries are on my list for this week!

A friend made this for me and her family the other night and it was awesome. She was a little concerned about the spiciness for the kids, but with the crema, it was no problema. The sandwiches were awesome and I discovered they are just as good with lettuce cups as with bread. Oh, yeah. (FYI - we used only half chorizo. The other half was ground turkey.

You will LOVE this recipe and MUST make everything including the onion rings--perfect way to add "crunchification" to your sandwich. I thought the chorizo would be too rich on its own, so I used equal parts chorizo and ground chuck. On its own, the crema tasted like it was missing something, but it was a perfect addition to the sandwich. The Sandwich King is 2 for 2 in our household. His Chicago Italian Beef recipe is the best and only way to prepare pot roast!

I've been trying real hard to not overeat anymore. Tonight's dinner made it even more difficult. This was simple, fast, and so full of flavor. My wife said she doesn't want to have regular sloppy joe anymore. Plus, my 5 year old daughter (who doesn't like onions loved it too. I added a little ketchup just to sweeten it a little. My daughter (with whom we watched every episode of Food Network Star said after dinner, "That sandwich king sure has some good ideas about sandwiches."

SO GOOD!!! It was all what a sloppy Joe is: messy, meaty and richer. The chorizo along with the sauce were super flavorful, spicy but not hot and very deep in color. Since I don’t like avocado, I made the cream with cucumber dressing, some mayo and chopped cilantro and it was AMAZING. The melted cheese, the hot meat and sauce, plus the cream made for a wonderful combination that was mouth watering. Definitely this recipe will be very regularly made around here. Thanks so much, Jeff!!! Love Sandwich King!!!

I finally watched this episode yesterday on my DVR and had to make it for dinner! It was delicious! I went to my commissary and due to the lack of specialized items, I had to substitute a few things: sweet red peppers, kaiser rolls and Cracker Barrel extra sharp Vermont cheddar. It was still awesome! Next time though I will probably take the below recommendation of half chorizo and half turkey or beef to make it a little less heavy. I must have picked a huge lime because the crema was extra "limey", but used it for dipping with his baked onion rings (only 4 stars due to long prep time. Overall fabulous meal! I LOVE Jeff and my husband doesn't mind since he's reaping the food benefits :-

My boyfriend and I made this for dinner tonight and loved it!!! We used half chirizo and half ground turkey and it turned out great--wouldn't change a thing!

Typically my bf rolls his eyes at the food network, but LOVES the Sandwich King. So much so that he has a series recording scheduled on the dvr. Thanks Jeff for making a show that we can watch and enjoy together, not to mention the delicious recipes!

This was delicious and a fun play on the sloppy joe! We thought 100% chorizo might be too rich so we went with 1 lb of hamburger and 1 lb of chorizo... seemed perfect for us. The avocado crema was fabulous. The salsa is a good time saver but may have had too strong of an impact. We might play w/ the seasoning next time or try a fresh salsa. We served it with the Sandwich King's baked onion rings which were fantastic... a must try!
