I made the fish tacos last night for a group. The recipe was easy to follow. The aroma of the searing tilapia made my mouth water. I was glad I tripled the recipe because most adults ate three tacos. I have some leftover mole that I will be incorporating in a lunch with grilled chicken today.

These were so easy and yet so delicious and we just loved the mole. I will definitely try some of his other recipes. He is very innovative and I look forward to trying this mole in other dishes.

Jeffrey's recipe was a delight to make (wonderful aromas and a real pleasure to eat. Do not be afraid to sprinkle on the anise! I could not belive what depth of flavor it added to the fish, and it added a nice texture too. The mole would go well with so many other foods -- chicken, pork, etc. I would never have thought of trying the spices that Jeffrey uses in the way that he uses them. He is a creative chef and does a great job on his mini-videos. Hint, hint, Food Network -- it's time for The Spice Smuggler to air on TV!

Fantastic recipe! We love fish tacos-but have never tried any type of mole sauce. This was absolutely delicious! It did make more sauce than I needed, so a few nights later I concocted a black bean & corn enchilada casserole with the extra, and it was fantastic. I'm a huge Jeffrey fan-I think he has great tv presence, and his recipes are original and delicious!

I was never able to find a really good recipe for tilapia. It is a very bland fish. This recipe was fabulous.
I served it at a dinner party and eveyone enjoyed the wonderful flavors of the fish and the mole.
    Thanks so much!

I had no idea that anise could taste like this. Not overpowering at all. My whole family loved it! Mole was great too and so easy!

We love Tilapia so I am always looking for a new way to prepare it. This was really very easy and very flavorful. Everyone wanted seconds, so that's a good sign!! Mole was easy and really yummy. Will be making this often.

Jeffery should've won TNFNS. I ltruly ike Melissa, but there are already so many "money saving-homecook shows" out there. Jeffrey has a super unique point of view, and he teaches the viewers about spices and flavorings that we may not be so familiar with, or may not even know about. That's the mark of a great chef and a great show...enlightenment into the vast world of food. Please give him his own series...it would be a very smart move!

I must admit I was kind of skeptical about what tilapia would taste like with anise seed, but I decided to trust Jeffrey and go with this recipe. The only ingredient I couldn't get at the store was the chili paste. So I got my own dried Chile Ancho and made my own paste by removing the seeds and cooking it in a little bit of water and then pureed it in the blender. The recipe was really easy and the taste was phenomenal. The mole flavor reminded me of some of the most sophisticated Mexican dishes I have tasted in the past. Every so often the anise flavor would just pop in my mouth with a nice twist of sweet aroma to it. The mole had a very interesting mix of nut, spices and spiciness to it. This dish is not for the timid and traditional kind of person. But if you want to be bold and try something out of the ordinary this is definitely a dish worth preparing. Very simple and easy to do for the amount of sophisticated flavor that came with it.
