If you love spicy food, you will love this dinner. The combination of smoked Paprika, which is fantastic, with the Chorizo makes for a wonderfully complex flavor that sticks with you. Used fire roasted diced tomatoes and substituted hamburger buns for lasagna to make a Spanish Sloppy Joe. Was pleasantly surprised how thick and rich it was but I did have simmer off the liquid more than the recipe recommended. My adventurous eight year old had two helpings. Will make again.

This was amazingly good. I am not typically a fan of "smoky" flavors, but this was really good. I ended up using beef chorizo by accident because I picked it up instead of the pork. Turned out it was really good. Next time I'll buy what I intended which is the pork and see if there is a difference. I think the Manchego cheese (which I never had before really made this dish.

I was really excited to try this one for two reasons. One, the new flavor. I had never had Smoked Paprika before. Two, the departure from the traditional lasagna.
The flavor is amazing. Between the Chorizo, Smoked Paprika and Manchego Cheese, you just get full-bodied deliciousness! So good. The Manchego is worth the splurge. I saw a couple of reviewers balked at the price. I found Manchego at Costco for just over $8/lb., which is less than half of what someone else said they paid. So, shop around! I also got my Smoked Paprika at Costco - giant jar of it for $4.
I really enjoyed the "Open Face" presentation. It was very quick and easy to put together. Definitely lighter than a traditional lasagna without all of that cheese baked into it.
Like a few others mentioned in their reviews, it definitely does not need a Tbsp. of salt. I think I used closer to a tsp., and honestly it might not even need that.

I am not a big fan of "smoked" flavors, but Jeff's enthusiasm won over my curiosity. This recipe was so easy, and so yummy. My husband and kids absolutely loved it. I followed the recipe exactly except for the salt. So sorry you didn't get the FN show. It would be nice if they could find something else for you.

This is a winner. This is a light and delicious version of classic lasagna. We made this recipe and the kids loved it. It is easy and fast and tasty.

This was creative, fast, easy and delightfully palatable. He is a gourmandise and should have been selected as the next FN star. He has a great personality, enthusiasm when explaining his recipe, and the use of one spice to create a dish so tasty is truly a gifted chef.

I practically followed the recipe to a T, with the exceptions of 1T of salt to 1tsp of salt and using campanelle pasta instead of lasagna pasta. I'm glad I reduced the salt because it definitely would've been way too salty. And I don't think the change in type of pasta would change the recipe either. I just wasn't feeling this. It was alright. Nothing too special. Oh wait! I omitted the parsley and manchego cheese. I didn't want to buy parsley to just use a little bit of it and waste the rest, so I opted out. And I forgot the cheese but by the time I remembered I was just too lazy to grate it so I just pulled out the already grated parmesan cheese we had already in the fridge.

Agree w/ others, 1 Tbs should be 1 tsp... but otherwise this recipe rocks!!! I actually used this as a more adult-tasting sloppy joe recipe w/o noodles, because I didn't have lasagna on-hand and had some leftover hamburger buns to use. The flavor is amazing between the chorizo (so inexpensive in Texas! and smoked paprika, and the panko helps the texture nicely. I did use Cotija cheese instead of Manchego - probably less smoky result than it would have been, but I loved it.

I made this the other night after watching Jeffrey's video clip, and really enjoyed it. I did make one substitution - the cheese, I used mozzarella but followed his recipe other than that. Nice twist/change from my traditional baked lasagna recipe.

Quick, easy and very tasty. Next time we will try it with a less expensive cheese. Manchego at $19.99/ lb is a little steep. I will try next time with mozzarella.
Thanks Jeffry. I can't wait to try your other spicy recipes!
