This is such a crowd pleaser. It is that rich garlicky crusty bread when you imagine the perfect garlic bread. It is also good without the sundried tomatoes and extra toppings. I have made it both ways and like to use just the basic ingredients for my usual garlic bread. I like to make the garlic butter/mayo mixture ahead of time and keep it in the fridge. This saves me some time especially when I plan on having Italian or general pasta leftovers throughout the week. Friends have asked me for this recipe.

Thanks Guy for a great recipe! My husband is the foodie in the family, but I usually cook weeknights. He was still talking about this bread when we were getting ready for bed! I won't make garlic bread anyother way from now on!

I used smoked sun dried tomatoes and this was by far THE BEST garlic bread I've ever had. A HUGE hit in my household, and plenty of topping left over to make another batch this weekend :

If you are hesitant to try this due to the mayo think again. You don't taste it, what it does is add a richness to this bread that is beyond restauraunt quality. We don't like sun dried tomato's so we left them out, it didn't matter. We halved the recipe and still had half left over to freeze for later. We used regular french bread and baked at 350 for 10 minutes, topped with cheese and put back in for another 5 minutes. We also made the cajun chicken alfredo from this episode, it was the BEST recipe I have tried off of food network and I have tried hundreds. Please try this it is a new staple here:

Watched the show and decided to download the recipe. Made for my wife first, then some friends in my Navy Reserve unit. They could not stop raving about it and requested the recipe for themselves. Definetly use Sundried Tomotoes in oil so they don't burn. Awesome Recipe!!!

This by far is the most flavorful garlic bread I've ever made, albeit as others have said, it makes enough for several loaves-- and then some. I quartered the recipe and had plenty of spread to lay on thickly. This is one recipe you don't want to pass over. Way to go, Guy!
