Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread, cut lengthwise
  • 2 ounces low-fat cream cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan

Directions

Preheat oven broiler to high. In a small bowl, whip together cream cheese and garlic. Spread evenly over cut surface of bread. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese evenly over bread. Put on a cookie sheet, place under broiler and cook until golden and bubbly, about 1 to 2 minutes. Serve immediately.

    This is a new twist on an old favorite, and it's still tasty! The cream cheese instead of butter is healthier and adds a... subtle sweetness to the garlic bread. This recipe could not get any simpler, -but just be careful not to let leave it in the oven too long!Read more

    Okay I have to be honest Im not a dieter, so I used full fat cream cheese. I made them once and found them slightly bitter... because of the raw garlic (and I LOVE garlic) and so thought Id try it again with roasted garlic paste instead, and it was WONDERFUL with the roasted garlic. So as written, I can only give it 4 stars. But really yummy, try it with the roasted garlic! Thank you!Read more
