I missed this particular episode of Throwdown, but a close friend of mine suggested I try this recipe out, and I will be forever grateful to her. I used chicken breasts on the bone and with skin, since I prefer white meat compared to the dark on the thighs. The sauce came out AMAZING, but I let it simmer for much longer than the recipe calls for so the flavors would come together more (about 2 hours. The chicken was all but falling off of the bone by the time it was plated. There would have been enough for leftovers had my family not eaten seconds, and some of them, thirds. I served the chicken over parmesan-herb Rice-a-Roni, which complimented everything perfectly. I also made a side of roasted parmesan green beans, which was extremely simple to make and tasted wonderful. The following day, I used the remaining sauce for whole-wheat pasta. Every bit of this meal was delicious.

I made this chicken Cacciatore when I first saw it on throwdown. Sorry Bobby, but this if fantastic. I missplaced the recipe and have been wondering where it went. I just looked on the site to find it and have to leave a comment because I did not when I first made the recipe. It is hands down the best, bone sucking, finger licking, bowl cleaning chicken cacciatore dish ever. I will be keeping this recipe to use over and over.

I've been wanting to try this recipe for a while since seeing it on throwdown years ago. Finally got around to it and I wish i had it sooner. This will be a repeat recipe for sure. The whole family were practically licking their plates. YUMMY!

I was raised in an Italian faimly and think of these authentic dishes with high regards. This recipe, was PERFECT and my husband loved it as much as I did!
Th only thing I changed was the tomatoes, I used 2 cans of fire roasted diced & pureed tomatoes. I also took the sking and bones out before serving. It is a little bit of a pain, but worth doing it in the kichen rather than guests doing it at the table. The meat fell off the bone the flavor was awesome. DELISH!

I tried this recipe this evening for dinner and it received rave reviews from my husband. Since it was just the two of us for dinner, I halved the recipe. I did not use a whole chicken cut into pieces, instead I used 4 drumsticks and 2 thighs. About the only change I made was to add about 1/4 cup of chopped pancetta to the recipe. The recipe was easy to follow, very tasty and was lovely paired with capellini pasta. This was a very yummy recipe that we definitely will be having again for dinner sometime.
