Surely the amount of oil called for must be a typo! I have't made a cake from scratch in a long time. In spite of thinking that 1 1/2 cups of oil sounded like too much, I followed the recipe. The cake fell in the middle. The outside that didn't fall was extremely heavy and greasy. This cake sure sounded good. Next time, I think I will adapt the recipe and use a cake mix!

My cake fell in the oven. :-(
It fell because I didn't use the suggested size cake pan. I didn't have that size so I used a smaller/deeper cake pan. Big mistake. It has been in the oven for nearly an hour and a half! After 40 minutes it was high, brown and jiggly. Baked on top and raw in the middle. Sigh.I gave the recipe 4 stars because the error was mine. Also based on other comments here and on another site I used a quarter cup less vegetable oil. I will definitely try this recipe again and use a larger cake pan.

So delicious! The only adjustment necessary is the amount of oil in the cake. While it was very moist, which is always good in cake, it was literally leaving grease spots on the paper plates we used at work. I will try reducing by 1/2 cup next time.

This is a really good recipe!! Cake is usually boring but this has a gooooddd kick! My glaze came out a little too runny which threw it off a little but it was still amazing. I used the key limes and everything. So much fun! Def a keeper! I am for sure a fan of Trisha's music, and now her cooking. You go girll!

This is the best cake I have ever eaten. It is so rich and moist with that zap of key lime pie. I baked it in a 13X9 pan and it took longer than the suggested time. I used regular limes because they are so much easier than the little key limes. I was just expecting a regular old jello poke cake but this was way beyond that category, not even in the same class.

Wow, this recipe is amazing. Made them into cupcakes. What can I say but delious, yummy, fantasic, wonderful and all the other adjectives.
Very easy, I agree with the rest of the review, the glaze is what makes the cake. Keep up the great work, Trisha. Enjoy watching your show.

Absolutely scrumptious!!! Watch out Paula Deen. Another southern girl with delicious, easy, family-friendly recipes. This was sooo easy, and sooooo delicious....was amazing! My husband and kids loved it...tasted exactly like key lime pie, but in a cake! Cream cheese frosting was so good and hard to believe only 3 ingredients! Thanks Trisha....gonna keep watching your show for sure...Another southern girl...

This cake is awesome! I make it in a 13X9 pan to make it easy. This is my nephew's favorite cake. I use bottled key lime juice in this cake.

Spectacular recipe felt like we took a trip to the Keys! We made them into cupcakes and cooked for about 12 minutes at 350 until they browned on the edges. The lime glaze really makes these standout. Looking forward to more recipes from you Trish!

This recipe is amazing. I have made this cake 3 times but have not yet tried it using key limes (just too many to squeeze for me. 4 regular limes work well! The cream cheese icing brings a nice, sweet balance to the tartness of the cake. A perfect combination!!!
