made this for the church social...it was gone in no time...my husband was disappointed that there were no leftovers...guess I'll be making another. I do the 3 layers rather than the sheet cake, and find that you have to really spread the frosting thin to cover all 3 layers. But it is delicious!!!!!

Two for two. I have made this twice since the show aired & both times it was a hit. The first time I had forgotten to buy limes & so I used Cointreau plus the confectioners’ sugar as a glaze. Home run!
Yesterday I needed to make something to bring to work & this came to mind since it is so easy. This time I wanted to make it sugar free & alcohol free so I used SF icing in a can & used Truvia Baking Blend in the batter. I did use the fresh lime juice the 2nd time but did not add the 1/2 cup of confectioners.
I baked the cakes in a convection oven & it was perfectly cooked both times so I don't understand what the other reviewers did to make it fall.
I will be making this again but will experiment & tweak which I enjoy doing. I will try bottled lemon or lime juice to replace the OJ in the batter. I'll also try to adapt this to a boxed cake mix.

To start, I'd like to state that I was never fond of key lime pie normally. I prefer anything to key lime pie.

Anyways, I ate this and I fell in love with key lime cake. This is the first time I've ever loved a key lime anything. It was delicious, tart but sweet, and the icing wasnt overpowering but it made its own little statement. I love it and plan to make it for my own mini celebration lol :

Easy scratch recipe. I made for New Year's with Prime Rib. It was a huge hit. I did three layers and took 1 cup of the icing, mixed with one jar of Lime Curd and put in-between the layers. It didn't last a day. Perfect dessert. I'm going to try this with lemon jello and use Limoncello for filling. Trying to figure out how to twist recipe to do Orange Dreamsicle one too.

I followed this as written. It's a "KEEPER" and will make it often. Still waiting to hear from two
neighbors on their verdict. Took some to my hairdresser, and she shared with several others. They all want the recipe. Love the taste of the fresh citrus. I made it with regular limes, since that's what
I had on hand. Happened to have enough oranges. Also just bought a Meyers lemon tree this
year, and it so far has produced 18 very large and juicy fruit. (Has 9 new ones coming. Would like to just reverse the lime and lemon, since I'm a huge lemon fan . This is a very tasty, moist
and colorful cake. Thank you, Trisha.

I made the three layer version of this, and I thought it was pretty. It only took 20 minutes to bake the layers. It was very moist. The glaze was very tart, which was offset by the sweetness of the frosting. If you're a big citrus fan, you will love this.

This was a really good cake. Very refreshing. I think I liked it better without the icing though, or maybe just use a very thin layer of it. It seemed a bit too sweet with a thick layer of icing on it. My hubby liked it too, so that's saying something!

It is delicious and I am not a key lime person. It is not overly sweet, which I like. It does have a great citrus taste to it. I will make it again. My husband loved it.
