It is absurd that people are giving this recipe low ratings because they don't like fish sauce. Pad thai almost always had fish sauce. If you don't like this you either screwed up or just don't like pad thai.

I made this dish twice this past weekend and it was so delicious & my family just loved it! It's tastes just like the pad Thai we order out from our local Thai take-out restaurant. I know I'll be making this over and over again! It's just like stir frying, once you have your ingredients ready you're set to cook! Also tried a different variation of substituting chicken for the shrimp. Yummy!

I just made this Pad Thai dish for dinner tonight. Both, my husband and I, loved it! Be mindful when cooking the Pad Thai noodles; don't mix the noodles with the veggies, eggs and protein until it is translucent (cooking the noodles thoroughly with just the Pad Thai sauce and water - I added half container of the Pad Thai sauce the recipe made and added water, little by little, to ensure the noodles are soft via taste test. Don't over mix it otherwise it will become a mush! Enjoy and Happy Eating.

I just finished making this incredible recipie!! A few words of caution for those unfamiliar with the fish sauce, best used in warm weather when you can open the windows and doors and have a breeze. Of, course I decided to taste the pad thai sauce as it just begining to cook, and thought "Oh, no! This is revolting!".....but after cooking for 60 minutes till nice and syrupy, it was delicious! ( I could not find palm sugar at my local oriental market so just substituted dark brown sugar. This dish is just awesome, I will be making this over and over and over for anyone who thinks they have ever had good pad thai before, provided the weather is nice and I can open the windows! Cheers, definitely a recipie worth trying and worth all the trouble to find the few unusual ingredients,

I have gone to many local places and always enjoyed this dish. I thought that if I made this one I could just eat at home. Boy was I wrong it came out terrible. I also agree that fish sauce makes me sick. Overall very salty, too much spice and the noodles were hard.

Wow, It's 4 o'clock am and I am still up surfing for authentic pad thai recipie. I was in Thailand in 2004 and had great food eating experience during the time I was there....
Pad thai was one of them... I cant wait until I try this recipie... I read the comments and reviews here, so far, all gave 5 stars.. that must be really good. I will try to make this recipe this week-end and I will be judge if it is authentic and that good... Thanks for all your input.. I am a BIG fan of food network and I have a lot of particular favorite Chefs and Cooks and not so favorite ones too...

I've tried multiple recipes and this is by far the best one I've ever tried. I've left out the preserved radish and it was still really tasty. I would recommend adding more bbq pork and peanuts that it asks for. Also, the sauce recipe makes a larger portion than needed. Thank you Food Network!

Used chicken 'cause thats all I had handy, and omitted the radish. Added thinly sliced bell peppers for veg points & color and garnished with cilantro. To keep the noodles from becoming a gloppy mess I stir fried in a smokin hot wok in this order: meat, garlic, noodles, eggs, sauce, veg. Garnish. YUM!!! By far my best attempt ever at this dish. Will never order carryout again!
