I love that this is a low-cal recipe. It absolutely does not taste like it and is the smoothest texture of any cheesecake I've had. The family loved it. Will definitely make again!

This reduced fat cheesecake from Alice Medrich is similar another cheesecake recipe of hers featured in "Baking with Julia." While a cheesecake made with cottage cheese will not have quite the same texture or flavor as a New York style cheesecake, I would say this is quite good for a healthier cheesecake. The lemon curd really wakes up the taste buds. Draining the cottage cheese is much more effective than adding a thickener like flour or cornstarch as some other recipes say to do.
