Loved this soup. Did not have tomato paste or the red wine vinegar but it still was delicious and easy to make. The amount of cumin was just right - not too over-powering - and I loved using the French green lentils and fresh thyme. This one's a keeper.

Seriously delicious. Being a vegetarian, I substituted vegetable broth for chicken stock. Brought it to a potluck, and everyone loved it. I think the cumin makes it.

So good & heathy too, I added 2 cut up chicken breasts, the parm @ the end makes it so flavorfull, I will add some olive oil @ the end next time.

Made this for a friend of mine that was suddenly diagnosed with Type I diabetes. She was overwhelmed with food decisions. She calls this her "miracle soup". On the days she eats this, her blood sugar is stable. Besides being delicious, the health value is amazing!

I was looking for a recipe with lentils and came across this one. I've made it now a couple of times and both times we've loved it. It's great even the next day as lunch for work. My toddler doesn't like vegetables so I just blended the soup and she ate it. It's a great way to get veggies in your kid.

I loved this so much that I emailed Ina! I tell you, it is worth it to order French Lentils for this soup, and the wine vinegar at the end just puts it over the top with flavor! Ina is a wonderful cook and this is one of her very best!

Very tasty and healthy soup. The acid from the vinegar complements the earthy flavor of the lentils. I didn't have leeks on hand but followed the recipe otherwise. The soup was a big hit.

I love this lentil soup recipe. It's very easy, healthy, and delicious. The drizzle of olive oil at the end is a marvelous addition. It makes a huge batch, so I freeze the leftovers and have a quick meal to look forward to!
