I am from the south myself. I love shrimp and grits!!! I don't make it at home because my sweetheart doesn't like grits. So, when I go out and its on the menu, I order it. I made this and he just LOVED IT. The flavor was absolutely AMAZING! Thank you for our happy middle ground.

This was great. I am not a shrimp and grits expert but we loved this. I couldn't find polenta so a bought a pre-made polenta that I thinned with Chicken broth. I used a half package of bacon rather than canadian bacon. Drained the grease and added about 1 tbs of butter to sweat my veggies. I forgot the hot sauce during cooking so we added it at the table. I used tabasco and my wife used sriracha we both loved it. Going to continue to look for polenta to make from scratch. Nobody is limiting you to what you can do. If it is too bland add some seasoning.

Good recipe. I used fire roasted tomatoes which kicked up the flavor. The polenta was way too bland. Next time I will make the polenta with vegetable stock instead of plain water. Overall successful. Thanks Bobby!

Pretty good, but it left me still wanting something else to eat. I was full, but not satisfied. I liked the polenta as a substitute for grits. The shrimp/tomato mixture didn't have enough flavor for me -- not really sure what it needed to make it more tasty. We'll try it again, but will doctor it up some.

First, I should explain that I am not a Greek yogurt fan; therefore, I did not care for the flavor of the yogurt instead of cream. To me, the flavors are too different. Cream has a very mild flavor where Greek yogurt adds too much...zing?!?! For comparison, I have not had your Mama's Shrimp and Grits, but I do think the polenta was a good substitute for the grits.
