The flavor was perfect for us Wisconsin chicken eaters, and it was VERY juicy, and if you don't mind getting out the blender and have a husband to grill, it was WAY too easy given how impressive the taste and texture. I love Marcela so much because this recipe was such a hit with my friends, a real step above barbeque sauce from the jar. Of course I have to email it to everyone. I am thinking of doing the "Julie & Julia" thing cooking all her recipes every weekend until I have tried them all. I am a crazy Mexican cooking loving Wisconsinite. I just luckily had some guajillo chiles in the cabinet. I did have to go to UTube to be sure I could "spatchcock" the chicken which I learned is another word for taking out the backbone (from Martha Stewart. They don't have a butcher at Target where I bought my $5 bird! It is very easy, don't be put off by it, and I learned something new that is SO valuable. Thanks Marcella!

Tasty but we wanted more flavor in the meat itself! I lifted the skin all the way down to the thigh and the legs, I spooned the adobo sauce under the skin and on top. It was tasty but we would prefer
more flavor! it was good but not strong enough. We love Mexican food and it was tasty but not stronge enough flavor for us.

This chicken was juicy and delicious. Next I will try this rub on boneless skinless chicken breasts then dice and use in a salad with avocado, spinach, romaine and grape tomato all in a baked tortilla shell.

To NYorican, the adobo mixture is made from the first six ingredients and then pureed in the blender. Lots of spice and the texture is great.
