I have had pozole at two different restaurants and this receipe showed both of them the door! My husband is Mexican and I am Scottish Irish and love challenging him at making dishes that he grew up with. This one was hands down a winner. Our Grandson asked for more the next day. Good thing we had leftovers. So easy and amazingly yummy! Score another one for the Gringa! Thanks Food Network! :

Great recipe. This was very easy to make and was extremely tasty. I made it for my mother in law who is Mexican and she loved it! Highly recommend on a cold day. Definitely hits the spot.

My husband is from Vera Cruz,Mexico; and I wanted to give him a taste of home for Christmas! I made the Pozole, as well as the Coconut Flan. Which was pretty hard for me since before this recipe I didn't even know what Pozole was! I followed the recipe to the T, and it was turned out great! At first I thought my family was just being nice, but when they were getting thirds, I knew it was a hit!
PS .... The Flan turned out even better, and now we have started a new tradition for our family at Christmas time!

Loved it! Very flavorful and super easy. The blended chiles added just the right amount of spice. Next time I'll try it with pork butt.

I always make posole on New Year's Day. This year I tried Marcela's recipe and it was a hit. May son kept saying "there's something about that broth, dad. It's great!" This is how I make posole from now on. I did use pork instead of beef.

This recipe was Great!! I am not a great cook, however I followed the recipe and it was easy to understand. I did however change one ingredient. The meat. I know the meat called for beef shank, however the guy at the grocery store suggested pork shank and it made it taste great. He also suggested pork shoulder (for flavoring and it worked as well. But I do have to say, the broth was excellent. My wife even enjoyed it. Thanks Marcela. Looks like I have a new family recipe. Can't wait to try more.

Very Good! I added diced onion and cilantro to garnish. To skim the fat, let the soup settle a bit after straining, then It's easy to skim off.

I always loved my mom's pozole. I didn't know how to make it and when I saw this recipe I had to try it. It was just as delicious as my mom's! Great job, Marcela!
To a comment below, pozole is supposed to be watery, not thick.
