This was an excellent soup. Citrus and hot sauce really finish and bring this dish together. I used a couple of beef shanks. I seared and seasoned them before I added the water but everything else I did as presented in the recipe. My whole family enjoyed this soup.

Delicioso! I love how the broth is so light and the veggies perfectly marry with the beef! It tasted even better on day 2!

The caldo de res turned out delicious! I made it for my parents who were born in Mexico and they absolutely loved it! Caldo de res is a traditional Mexican dish that my whole family has enjoyed for many years. Marcela's caldo is the most authentic tasting recipe I have found. I did use more beef than what the recipe calls for because that's how my dad likes it. I also let the meat simmer for about an hour and a half before I added the veggies. Absolutely perfect! Thanks so much, Marcela!
