These burgers were so good and flavorful. I orginally thought the pineapple would be awful but it was delicious. I made mine with 1/2 pork and 1/2 ground turkey and still good. My 10 and 12 year old immediately asked to put these burgers as part of dinner rotation. Surprisingly inexpensive dinner also, which is always a plus. Thank you, I have enjoyed everything made by Marcela.

SOOO yummy! I used beef, as we don't eat pork, and it was wonderful! The pineapple made it. We had never had grilled pineapple before so we were unsure. But even the 4-yo scarfed these down. I only made half the recipe and totally should have made a full one. : We are totally making these for company this summer!

I seen her make these on the show and thought, hmmmm, being a pastor lover, I couldn't wait to grill up a bunch of my own. Well, it was worth the wait. Along with a roasted garlic and avocado aioli, it was a dinner winner!

Do NOT marinate these burgers for 3 hours. The pineapple juice will break down the protiens in the pork and turn the burgers to mush with a saw dust texture. Simple science. Follow the recipe exactly for mouth watering results. Tried it both ways and learned my lesson.

I used ground turkey instead of pork. I used some dries chilies I found at walmart, not sure it was the same as what was used. I did cook the burgers on a griddle and it came out good! The pineapple is a must! Great dish and super easy.

We used canned pineapple to keep it simple and we didn't grill it or the buns and since it was raining, we opted for the griddle outside and they came out great!! I was worried they would fall apart on the grill anyway since there was no binder in it so the griddle was a great alternative. Definately true al pastor flavor....note: we marinated them almost 3 hours before cooking them and added a good bit of kosher salt and pepper when they grilled to get a good crust. This will definately be a keeper!!!
