    I'm making this for a fiesta themed party. I always make a test version of a new recipe and have my co-workers give me a thumbs up or thumbs down. This one received a unanimous two thumbs up. Even those who don't usually like flan said they would eat this again. I agree with some that did not care overly for the cake. I think the difference is whether it's room temp or chilled. When I tried a slice chilled, the cake wasn't my favorite. When I tried it room temp/warm, it was so much better. The two textures compliment each other nicely.

    Cooking time note. My first version took two hours to cook. My second version took the stated one hour. The only change I made was to cook on regular bake instead of convection bake.

    We thought this was better as just a Flan. The cake was a bit much, but the Flan excellent! Actually made the Flan part as our dessert for our Summer Party this year, and it was inhaled in no time flat!

    After watching the show, I made it for my hubby's birthday. He loved it and his family did too! Printed out many copies of the easy recipe. Its now a family favorite. Thank you for sharing it with us. (I've also made it with box chocolate cake and its delish too!

    Delicious - it was a hit at home!

    Did not have a bundt pan so used a springform pan and covered it in an oven bag. I was nervous baking this as I was not convinced that the two layers would separate evenly.

    Did not have cajeta so prepared caramel sauce. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

    I thought that the cake part wasn't as sweet as id like it to be, followed recipe as is and it came out flavorless...as for the flan part, best flan I've had.! Yummmm if only the cake part was chocolaty fudge it would be a ten in my opinion!

    This ones a winner!! Didnt have cajeta so made my own caramel sauce using condensed milk. It was moist n so delicious! I baked it for almost 80-90 mins. Very important to let it rest before unmoulding! Yummy!

    This has become my all time favorite cake to make, it's easy and DELICIOUS!!!!! I have made it a few times for reunions and it's the first to go. Thank you, Marcela, for this yummy recipe.
