This was very easy to make and delicious! I have a friend that does not eat sweets but loved this. Let me give you 2 tips. Make sure the crust is really cold before adding the Dulce de Leche. Scrape the Dulce de Leche into a bowl and add 1/2 teaspoon water to thin just a little. I even put the crust into the freezer for additional 5 minutes before spreading the dulce de leche on.(Refrigerator 20-25 minutes, freezer 5 minutes Also make sure you press the crust down with a jar or something hard with a flat bottom. I have had it come out perfect every time. Don't be cheap with the bananas!!! Make each slice a quarter of an in or more thick!
DO NOT USE LECHE!! USE DULCE de LECHE (Caramel Color For those with thin mixture you got the wrong one!

PD: Nos encanta tu programa.

this tastes absolutely delicious. I took off a star because I found spreading the dulce de leche over the crust very annoying. even after I heated it, the crust crumbled some on me.

We've made this recipe twice (along with several other pies and both times it was the first one eaten. Because my kids made the pie we used a pre-made grahm cracker shell and chose to leave the cinnamon out of the cream topping. Was suprised that this still had a great banana tasted even though there was only the one layer of banana.

This is my new favorite dessert for this Thanksgiving 11'. My family and I loved it. Can wait to make it again. I especially love it because I don't care for chocolate but I love caramel. Unfortunately, my grocery store was out of heavy cream the day I made it so I had to substitute the whipped cream with CoolWhip and added cinnamon to it and it turned out perfect.

Yeah, another great dish from Marcela. I am Mexican-American and I'm so pleased to finally have an awesome new chef on the Food Network. I'm especially happy that her recipes are actually true to the mexican culture and how easy she makes it for us viewers to learn. This pie for instance was delicious and very easy to make. I will definitely make this for my next pot luck since it's sure to be a crowd pleaser. I cant wait to try out more of your mexican desserts:

I too made it and it was extremely runny. Any suggestions on how to fix?
