I absolutely love mexican food and thought this would be great to try at home. My friend and I couldn't wait. We disliked the peanut butter from the get go. We made a second batch without the peanut butter.Turned out, we didn't like the chocolate in it either. We used every ingredient Marcela used. Try the beer marinated flank steak instead. That one rocked!

My boyfriend and kids love enchiladas and mole, but this was absolutely horrible. It went to waste because nobody could stand to eat it. There were so many problems with this recipe it's not worth listing it all. I use a lot of recipes on here, and always rate them honestly, and I wish I hadn't spent the money for these ingredients. I've been cooking for a long time now, and have no problem following recipes, so I know it wasn't my fault. Even my boyfriend said it was just the recipe. "The flavors were just awful" is what he said.

I made this for Sunday night dinner and everyone loved it. Even my pickey eater just loved this because it wadn't to spicy just right. I will be making this dish again and again. Keep up the good work and great mexican dishes. My family really enjoys your dishes. The only thing I didn't use was the corn chips but it came out great.

My boyfriend already has a crush on Marcela - but now he knows she can cook too (uh oh I am new to Mole and decided to try this one last night. We were totally unprepared to do this so we had to make the following substitutions. Grilled the chicken then diced it up. Had no corn tortilllas - used crushed Fritos and layered like a lasagna. No mexican chocolate - used 1 oz semi sweet with cinnamon as the cooks notes states. No feta used monterey jack. I said we were unprepared But as it turns out it was great!!!!!! Definately will make this again but may cut the cinnamon back just a bit in the chocolate. All in All thanks for a great recipe!

First of all let me just say that it's a bout time the Latin community was represented on this network. This recipe is amazing and is so easy. My friend's Mom makes Mole and it's such a long process and so intimidating that I've never even thought about making it.I made this one and wow I love it.!!!! I had some authentic Mexican Mole of all places in Puerto Rico and it was so good and tasted a lot like this one. This family has been on the island for years and serve excellent food and this Mole had all of the tones that this one has. Yea Keep up the great recipes Marcela your show if breath of fresh air. Buena Suerte.

these wer great...I was a little hesitant cause i am picky when it comes to mole and afraid to mess with a good thing. I usually use the kind in the jar which i love and I have made one from a rick bayless recipe which was very good so after reading some of the reviews and seeing how easy the recipe was i was a little suspicious of how good it could really be. I made a couple adjustments and additions to the recipe and it came out prefect!
I used less chocolate a little over 3oz which is one disc of the abuelita chocolate (same as Ibarra just a different brand less sugar, only one tablespoon of peanut butter and 2 cups of chicken stock instead of 1 3/4 cups. When the sauce was done simmering and after i added the chocolate, it was way too thick. I added about a cup more of water and it was a better consistency...I then tasted it and it was still a little too sweet and chocolatey for me, I wanted a better balance of chocolate and spice so I added a can of El Pato chile fresca tomato sauce (the yellow can, this made it just perfect.
So my advice to anyone who is thinking about making these is, go for it!! It's a great base recipe and just make adjustment as you see they are needed.
I will def make these again...my matty liked them too.

Usually I make the red mole but this was such a hit with my hubby and two picky girls. Marcela does a great job of simplifying such a complicated dish, although I did use a little less chocolate. Can't wait to try more of her recipes!!

What happened to this show? Where did it go? It was bad enough that this show was broadcast on the West Coast (California at the god-awful hour of 6:30 am on Saturday, but now I can't find it at anytime day or night. If they need to make room for this show, get rid of Brian Boitano's show. Bring back Marcella Valladoid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

p.s. This is an excellant recipe.
