This is a very unique and flavorable appetizer. It's easy to make and my guest raved over the flavor. I had read some of the other reviews before I made it and I was afraid because someone talked about the chipotle peppers not breaking down but once I read through the recipe I realized it said one canned chipotle chiles in adobo saude, not a can of chipotle chiles in adobo sauce. I have a gas stove and it only took 1 hour and 45 minutes for the chutney. That was an added bonus.

I?m sorry but this just didn?t fancy my southern pallet. Leave out the red peppers and onions and maybe it will make a great desert.

I'm making this recipe and the ingredient list indicates to leave the chipotle pepper whole. The pepper is adding a nice flavor and color to the the liquid mixture but it isn't breaking down. The cooking instructions don't indicate whether to remove the whole pepper at the end or whether it needs to be removed, chopped, and returned to the chutney. I'm concerned that if it is left whole someone will get an overdose of chipotle, and if I leave it and break it up, that the flavor will overpower the taste of the raspberries. Unfortunately I didn't see the TV episode to know how Marcela handled the pepper. I'm going to remove it, add the raspberries, and then add some chopped chipotle back to taste. My low rating is not about the flavors of this recipe but for the lack of clear instructions. As a shortcut, I'm making mine with puff pastry shells. They are already scored to remove the center to be filled with the goat cheese and chutney.

so easy and delicious. It looks impressive to guests for a dinner party, as well...not the same ol' same ol'.

this recipe DOES NOT take 2.5 hours to boil down (which I just discovered after cooking mine for an hour and it BURNED!. I followed the instructions, cooking on medium low, waiting patiently for the right thickness and then lost it to burn'ville. Very disappointing. Now I have to start over and wait another hour.

I made this with what I had on hand.... It turned out wonderful!! I used the blackberries that we picked out of our yard instead of raspberries!! Again it turned out beautifully!! can not wait to invite friends over for a cocktail party to try it out on them too!! It was sweet and spicy and creamy all in one bite!!

I wish people would stop rating recipes THEY HAVE NOT TRIED YET. No matter how great it sounds, the proof is in the pudding as they say. This rating is simply to cancel out NULL who inappropriately rated this with a mediocre 3 after the two previous ratings were both 5. All this does is discourage people from trying it who see this "not so hot" rating. Ugh!

Very simple to make. The house smelled fantastic while it was simmering. Nobody ever makes chutney to take to a dinner party. I looked like I knew what I was doing!
