I watched Marcela make this in her show-made it exactly as the recipe called for except I used jumbo fresh shrimp-what a hit with my husband and me! Definitely a keeper!

Simply a wonderful twist on the avocado grilled slightly and the marinated scallops were very very tasty. Marcela was enjoyable to watch and natural in her presentation. She is the next Rachel Ray!

Maybe it was the Achiote, or Orange or a combination of different ingredients, but we really didn't care for this one. Margaret, there are numerous cooks (non-chefs on Food Network. I am not exactly sure, but I feel that Paula Deen, the Neelys, Sunny Anderson, and Rachel Ray are among the cooks, and have not been to culinary schools. As I mentioned I wasn't sure about all of these, but I believe (from what they themselves have said that they are not chefs. Do you wish to badmouth these presenters too? Would you like to call Paula Deen and Rachel Ray amateurs? I personally like the fact that not everyone is a chef. I am not, and I'd like to see some people who cook at my level. Also, being a chef is not a good reason for airing someone in Prime Time. I feel that it is being done by the number of people who watch the presenter. Melissa's recipes are reviewed hundreds of times as soon as it is aired (I have seen as high as 300+ reviews for some of her recipes and she has not been on for a year yet, and after literally hundreds of reviews, she still ends up with 4 to 5 stars. Some of the recipes of the beloved presenters, mentioned above and others, have less than 10 in 3 years. I also like the fact that Melissa has a gem of a trick in her episodes. I learn more than a recipe from her. If 8:30 A.M. is early for you to watch your favorite chef, please record them. But whatever you do, stop your cheap shots at Melissa. It is childish and rude.

Thanks, foodnetwork, for bringing this chef back. This recipe is delicous like all her recipes. Marcela IS A REAL CHEF. You took her off and put on Melissa, the amateur, for awhile but now I can come back to Saturdays at 8:30 here in San Antonio. PLEASE PUT MARCELA ON OUR PRIME TIME ON SUNDAYS AND TAKE OFF MELISSA. SHE IS TAKING PRIMETIME OVER.
