I was so excited to try this recipe as it sounded so cool and refreshing. But, I was so disappointed because the whole thing was sooo watered down and tasteless. This made me leery of trying any of the other Mexican Made Easy recipes.

I was totally impressed with this drink. Cucumbers for a drink mix. I did notice the amount of water and remembered Marcela to say only 1/3 cup of water, so as others have stated the recipe is wrong. You want the cucumber taste, not a water taste. I think what makes this drink so yummy is the "TAJIN" Seasoning. I went to our local Latin Market and found the chile-lime seasoning. Not expense ($1.89 for the bottle and best of all the clerk told me it is good on fresh fruit and vegetables. I made a radish salad and tossed a few sprinkles of this seasoning on them and what a wonderful taste.

Thanks Marcela for a great recipe and getting me to think outside of the box.

Marcela, hopefully you are reading these reviews. First of all, I'd like to say that you have hit a homerun with this recipe. Cucumbers? Who would have ever thought of this in a cocktail. My fiance is Mexican and she was wiery about this, as I was making it. Turns out, it happens to be the best cocktail drink she has ever had with a vegetable/fruit.

I'd like to point out one area in this recipe that may be confusing others when they watched you prepare it on Sat. morning. I have a culinary background and I think that helps me improvise recipes when I'm preparing foods and drinks. The amount of water in the recipe is contradictory in comparison to your show. As I was making this, I also noticed that 4 cups of water would dilute the drink; however, I could see why the water was used- to make 4-6 servings.

I think if you were to change your recipe to using ice after processing the cucumbers, it would account for the water usage and also make it colder, since it is a summer drink. This would mean that you would have to use more cucumbers to make 4-6 servings, or just omit the 4 cups of water. I think I'm going to try this with honey dew, because we enjoyed it so much. I'm a food writer and this has given me new ideas for drinks. Thanks Marcela.

I am watching the show and am about to make these, and the amount of water listed in this recipe is WRONG. Marcela only adds "about 1/3 of a cup" of water to her agua fresca when she blends the cucumbers and simple syrup, not FOUR CUPS of water. If you're going to do that, you might as well leave the seeds in because as she says, "you'll end up with a big watery mess". This recipe should be fixed.

On a side note, I've made cucumber water before as a by-product of making cucumber tzatziki. After you shred your cukes, squeeze the excess moisture out and use it for cocktails. Really wonderful with sparkling water and lemon on a hot day or a spa day.
