I made this a couple of hours ago. I did toss in some slivered almonds other than that I used 4 cups of coconut and 1 can of the milk as in the show. It turned out really well. I am not the biggest fan of coconut but I made it for my wife. Chewy and crunchy at the same time. Might try chocolate chips next time. Be sure to prep your pan real well. I am having to struggle getting it out. Yummy

i just made it and am waiting for it to cool enough to eat!!!she said 4 cups COCONUT and i can condensed milk on the show. but why do they do that? give one amount of ingredients on the recipe and use a different amount on the show. if they are going to do that i think they should tell us and why.

I made this with my family and it was so yummy. We made it the way marciela did with 4 cups of coconut and a can of condensed milk. It looked so good even before we baked it!

Love this recipe!!! Very tasty and did I mention easy. My family couldn't get enough, I saved the outer edges for me, "oh yeah"!! Will do again, definitely.

I only caught the end of the show and did not hear the amounts needed to make the Cocada, however, I did find the recipe on line.
Even though, I did not have the full amount of ingredients the recipe called for, I did try it. I cut the recipe into thirds, plus I also added chopped pecans and chocolate chips. The Cocada turned out great! My grandchildren just LOVED the Cocada,

I just tried this with 4 cups of coconut and 1 (14 oz. can of sweetened CONDENSED milk. It covered all the coconut. Not sure if I should have baked it a little longer or let it cool longer. The edges were nice and brown, but the middle was still quite gooey. I think I might try making this next time as coconut balls on a baking sheet so all edges get crispy.

i'm with the only other review, i think it sounds great! i love coconut macaroon cookies, and it sounds yummo. however, on her show she did state 4 cups of sweetened coconut. i rated it poor because i would like to try the recipe, but, what are the correct ingrediants? thank you.

I would use the 4 cups coconut to 1 can of sweetened evaporated milk. The recipes on the show seem to be accurate, where as the on-line recipes are not always right. The one they have posted seems like there is not near enough of the canned milk to coat 5.5 cups of coconut. I believe the coconut would burn, as she indicated on the show today if it was not all coated. I plan to use the one she used on the show.

On the show today, Marcela gave the ingredients as:
4 cups coconut
1 can Sweetened Evaporated Milk
In the recipe online it says
5 1/2 cups coconut
1/2 cup Sweetened Evaporate Milk
Which is it? There is a big difference of 4 cups vs. 5 12 cups coconut. I want to make this but I need the right amount of ingredients please.
