The difference between the show and the website recipe is the following:

-she said she uses canned crab
-she used veg oil - not olive oil
-she didn't put panko breadcrumbs in the crab cakes
    -she didn't use the egg
-she shaped the cakes using a large cookie cutter, but mentioned you can use a can

All the other measurements and ingredients looked correct. Hope this helps you out!

I was ready to make the crab cakes for dinner. I had watch the show today; However when I printed the recipe I also notice that the ingredients and way of prepping were not the same. I went on a use the web recipe. Wish I had not.
Marcela makes a point of telling you to pack the crab cake mix into a small round cookie cutter or use a can. That if you do not then cakes fall apart. Yep mine sure came apart as well as being to thick and big. Her,s came out in a smaller easy bite sizes. I did however use a vegetable oil. It was not till I came to comment that I notice the same feed back. They came out good and I will make again bit do as Marcela had done on show (no egg- pack down very tight and fry in vegetable oil

Please post the actual recipe that she made this morning. Does anyone have it? I too was watching and planned on making these tonight for the family. It did sound different than what I watched her make! I have a hungry family in TX!

After reading reviews, I am now hesitant in making it. Those who commented that recipe does not match the TV version should have mentioned what was different as I did not see the entire segment--I'll look for reruns. I do agree that I have experienced problems with other recipes on this site. I want to stress that I do love Mexican Made Easy. She is a breath of fresh air in Mexican cooking.

Food Network's Recipe ingredients do not match what the recipe on TV was. Crab Cakes could be a dissaster if we followed your recipe not to mention the expense in purchasing the ingredients. Food Network needs to proof read their recipes if they expect readers to continue to watch the shows. This recipe would make it appear that the cook is at fault when in fact it is Food Network staff. Fortunately I watched the show and made the recipe according to the chefs instructions.

Couldn't agree more with the previous viewer - this recipe does not match what she cooked on TV and it's not the first time or the first chef. For example, she didn't say to add a beaten egg, she said to use vegetable oil not olive oil, she said to use canned crab meat for ease of use, etc.etc. I've run into this with Paula Deen and Tyler Florence recipes too.

Food Network your site is pitifully slow, flash doesn't allow us to use it on our iPads and worst of all the recipes don't match how the chef cooked it on their show. C'mon Food Network - let's get things fixed!

I have never written any reviews, I just enjoy reading them and watch all of the different chefs and shows.
However, this morning, I decided to have my lap top on while the show was running. First of all, the website is so frusrating, so slow and just not user friendly and I have read bad comments about the website for a long time.
As far as the recipe printed on the website from this show, it is incorrect and I dont understand where you got that recipe as opposed to what she was actually cooking. I have read reviews punishing the chef and only rating the recipe with 1 star, but this is NOT HER FAULT, the foodnetwork staff just needs to get it right. Seriously.....
