My girlfriend invited us over last night where she was going to teach me how to make chile rellenos. I noticed that her recipe was almost exactly like this one. The only exception being that she didn't mix oregano into the cheese mix and she used Hatch chiles instead of poblanos. It was AMAZING!!!! She served it with homemade refried beans and Spanish rice. Can't wait for leftovers tonight!!

I can't wait to make Maricela's recipe, and SOON!

This is an excellent recipe. I've always stayed away from making chile rellenos because something seemed to be lacking in flavor. Not with this recipe. Finally I have mastered the art of making a FANTASTIC chile relleno. Love the recipes on this show!

I made these last night and they were delicious. So, easy to put together, too. The pablanos were quite hot which was surprising, as I thought, they were a milder pepper, but they were still delicious and they were all eaten. Thanks for a wonderful homemade chiles rellenos recipe.

Some of the reviews below are taking about how the pablanos are falling apart. There isnt anything wrong with this recipe (with the exeption of the missing jalepeno in the salsa You have to just cook your pepper long eonogh to char the outside. If you cook the crap out of them, then you take the pepper to far and it will start to fall apart. So just make sure you have a nice size pepper and put it on an open flame just slong enough to char ( shouldnt be that long and you will not have cooked the pepper on the inside so much that it falling apart. This is coming from a mexican who cooks alot of chile rellenos!!!!

I made these a few days ago and my husband is still raving over them...he even went so far as to remind me to give it a 5 star review. I found it easy, but the roasting of the peppers was time consuming as I took my time to not rip the things apart as I have in the past with other recipes. Well worth the time and effort.
