My family loved this recipe. So easy to prepare. The only time consuming was to continue basting, but a must for great grilling.
Thanks for this great combination of flavors.

Marcela has become one of my favorite chef's the prep. and directions are at my level. The flavors are to die for, and every single one of her recipes has turned out a winner. This chicken recipe makes a simple cost effective buy at the grocery (chicken drums, or thighs a very tasty meal. In these hard economic times, the recipes and seasonings make all the difference. Thanks Marcela... Eres la mejor!

I didn't like the way my chicken turned out after following the recipe. The sauce didn't stick to the chicken, it lost quite a bit of flavor that way, and the chicken wasn't tender or crispy. Also it wasn't spicy at all and I'm a self professed wimp.

I'm going to re do this with several modifications. I'm adding chili powder, changing the vinegar to apple cider vinegar, adding onions. Then I plan to either marinate the chicken or cook it submerged in the sauce. Then I'll take it out of the sauce and crank the heat to get it crispy.

I made these last night. They were good but the marinate didn't soak into the wings. It did run off when I basted the wings. I did increase the temperature to 400 degrees for the last 15 minutes and got crispy skin. I will make again but will add cayenne as other suggested. Apparently the chipote powder was a mild version.

I love Marcela's show. I schedule my trendmill time around it on Saturday mornings.

I did baste my chicken with this sauce as it states to do so and it turned out perfect. Just don't over do it. I have used this sauce for several different entree's. For example grilled chicken w/ veggies and rice, it was delicious!

"Arrange the drumettes on a baking sheet, and brush each with the marinade", you don't bake them IN the marinade!

baking the wings with the marinade made a soggy mess. i would recommend baking drumettes dry first. draining the liquid, and then tossing with marinade and rebaking them. the flavors were good, albeit a bit too sweet for me.

I made these for my husband and I...They smelled really good and the sauce was delicious... but for whatever reason the sauce on the chicken drumettes was for a better word DISMAL... It slid off and cooked on to the foil... even after I basted teh chicken 3 times...

My husband loved this! The only thing I did different, was added some red chili flakes and a dash of cayenne because the ancho chili powder I found was mild. And I will also half the recipe next time because I had a lot of extra sauce. Loved it!
