We loved having these bellinis with our Valentine's Day breakfast. The color was perfect, the flavor delightful. Our first taste of prosecco, but not our last. Thanks, Mario!

...but it also sounds more like a mimosa than a bellini. (sparkling wine + orange juice has always equaled a mimosa as far as I knew.
Oh well, I guess since its a recipe by Mario Batali, of course he's going to name it after an Italian cocktail. ; Whatever its called, I'm sure its going to be labeled "delicioso" by all who drink it!

The sweetness and beautiful ruby color of the blood oranges compliments the bubbly champagne. What a delicious start to a brunch or even a delightful prelude to a gourmet meal. Loved it!

The title says it all. Sadly, blood oranges have a relatively short season.
