My boyfriend is gluten-free so I made this with rice noodles. It was absolutely delicious. Thanks, Mario!

I'm not a big fan of broccoli rabe myself, because of the bitterness, but I made this for my family, who love broccoli rabe, and they enjoyed it immensely. I've since made it quite a few times. It's incredibly easy and fast to make.

Try it you'll like it! I used 4 whole plum tomatoes in tomato juice (hand crushed to give more texture plus a 1/4 cup of the juice. the crushed tomatoes didn't seem appealing to me.Try it either way it's still good eats,

For all you broccoli rabe fans this is an excelent recipe. The fresh, basic ingredients made the recipe light and delicious.
The only difference I did was par blanch the broccoli rabe and shock it immediately to take some of the bitterness out of it.
I made the homemade orecchiette that Mario made on his show to go with the sauce. In my eyes this homemade pasta made the final dish exceptional.
I come from a very Italian family and this recipe past with flying colors.
