i was plagued by this question as i had four duck legs sitting in my freezer for months. i sought something simple and satisfying. then i saw mario's episode. this recipe was easy to prepare and yields a hearty, delicious dish.

Move over Mom, Mario is the only one to beat you on sauce! Duck is pricey so I also tried it with turkey and was great. On the show Mario gave two important hints (not listed in the recipe1. Put the tomato paste in before the liquid and brown it for c. 6 or 7 mins. I found this very important. 2. Use San Marzano toms...there is a difference and they are getting easier to find.
