This dish is amazing. The meatballs are my go to recipe for meatballs all of the time.
I make it sometimes and leave out the chicken as I think it loses some of its flavor and I don't care for the bones. At any rate it is wonderful. The sauce cannot be beat! Perfect for cold, snowy Chicago days!

Fantastic recipe! Tasted just like Gramma's. My meat fell off the bones because I cooked it a little longer. I followed a suggestion from earlier and cooked the wine down to a syrup. Delicious!

I made this with zero adjustments and it was delicious. It came out perfectly. Everyone I served it to really enjoyed this meal.

    This came out amazing!
I used pork country ribs, Italian sausages and followed the meatball recipe to the tee. I wouldn't change a thing and my family loved it. Mario, you made me proud!

I actually made this recipe years ago it was named something else but it was Mario's recipe. I couldn't believe I made something that good. I have been making it ever since. The key I think is when you put in the wine. Even my favorite Grandma's and Aunt's were doing it wrong. I really think it makes a big difference. The wine (and we always use a good one must carmelize and it makes a big difference in flavor than just dumping it in later in the cooking process. Grazie Mario

Living in New York, you have your fair share of Sunday Ragus...and I may have tried all of the recipes on Food TV. Mario Batali is the Master. I have liked all the recipes on this site but this one takes the cake! The taste was perfection. I had 6 people over and all of them gushed over this meal. The recipe is lengthy (all the searing of meats and the ragu was a bit liquidy. I wasn't used to this so i just made a makeshift roux (a bit of the sauce & oil skimmed off the top & flour then added it to the ragu to thicken it up a bit. I will be making this again tomorow without the thickening agent to see which way I like it better...as a matter of fact I will probably make it every week for the rest of my life. Thank you Mario you are my hero!
P.S. If you liked this: Try Mario's Lasagne bolognese!!! It's another favorite in my house.

All the ingredients are simple and the dish is easy to make... it tastes absolutley fantastic especially if you get the chance to eat it with a large group... When i brought out the platter of meat everyone was so impressed and the meat was devoured... This recipe is great.
