I am Polish so turnips should be part of my repertoire. My mom says she never like turnips that is why she does not use them. However, I liked this recipe. You use a dutch oven on the stove top and brown the butter, then add the turnip mix and brown on all sides. I added only a sprinkling of poppy seed and then the paprika and the red wine vinegar. It was a nice complement to a pork loin roast! Remember add a little spice at a time to taste.

I'll start by saying I think I just don't like turnips to begin with, I don't want to say this was a bad recipe becuase it may just be that I dont like turnips. I bought some to try something different, but I don't think I'll try them again. These are very different tasting, I wouldn't serve these to others until you try them first. If you like turnips then I would say try this out, but if you've had them before and wern't crazy about them, you won't like this either.

What is a large ovenproof saute pan? Also if it says saute until light golden brown, what setting do I use on my stove?

Fixing to make this with 1 small turnip - never ate a turnip before.
Just wondering if it goes in the oven and they missed it in the printing of the recipe?

This recipe is now my secret weapon. We grow turnips in our garden and were looking for something new to do with them, and here it is. This recipe is simple and the results are delicious. I have served these to dinner guests three times and each guest has commented they never enjoyed turnips much before, but love these. Thanks Mario!

I haven't made turnips before, but this was a great recipe and very easy! My husband can be picky about flavors and absolutely loved it. We even liked it with just butter and a little garlic.
