Ingredients
- 1 pint vanilla gelato
- 6 amarene cherries (cherries in syrup)
- 1 pint chocolate gelato
- 1 pint coffee gelato
- Chocolate sprinkles, vanilla sprinkles, cocoa powder
Directions
Using an ice cream scoop, scoop out a ball of vanilla gelato. Stuff a cherry in the center of it and place on a sheet tray. Working quickly, repeat with remaining cherries and gelato and place sheet tray in freezer for 20 minutes or until ready to serve.
When serving, sprinkle each tartufo with sprinkles or cocoa powder. Serve immediately.

I love Tartufi -- and eat it when I can when in Rome. Looking at this recipe though, no mention is made on what to do with the coffee or chocolate gelato!?!?
Tartufi is NOT simply vanilla gelato stuffed with a cherry covered with cocoa powder.
