Brilliant. The flavors and textures (and the smell-- this is a crazy good dessert! I made it for a first-dinner-date situation, turns out the fella normally hates baked-apple desserts but this dish may have changed his mind (he went back for seconds when I was out of the room!. He particularly enjoyed the fact that there was equal crunchy-goodness to apple. We both loved the caramel sauce with that effervescent hit of cardamom. Needless to say it was an excellent date. Thanks Melissa!

I ended up having to make this 3 times in two weeks because my family just couldn't get enough of it! It's delicious and so easy to make, it also won out over all of the pies at Thanksgiving. There were 3 pies left but not even a crumb of this.

This recipe would have been great if the sugar would have been cut by half, and also leaving off the caramel sauce as both made it almost sickeningly sweet. I just finished watching Nadia G make basically the same recipe for crumble, but with half the brown sugar and no sauce. (She topped hers with candied bacon...hmmm...I'll have to think that one over, but it sure looked good!

You could look all day long for an apple crumble recipe. Or, You could just mke this fabulous one!!!! It is great any way you make it. I usually double it because we LOVE apples. It keeps well and reheats well in microwave. I don't always make the sauce, but it is excellent for special dinners.Try it you will make it over and over.I have 60 years worth of recipes and this is the one I always make now! Thanks Melissa!

I loved this & I don't usually like crisps...couldn't even tell the topping had oatmeal! Used 1 honey crisp and 2 granny smith apples and it was just the right balance of sweet and tart. I loved the taste of cardamon! My sauce burned; but, that's my fault...I'll do better next time...and, there will be a next time! Thanks, Melissa!!

I really liked this ALOT! However, instead of using regualr suger I subsituted with Splenda... and it still came out great! The carmel sauce didnt actually turn brown (I think becuase I used Splendaand I used ground cardamom (a little goes a LLOONNGGG way. So my suace was more of a white gravy, but it was still delish! My kids loved it = I'll definately be making this again <3

The apples were easy and standard. Unfortunately, it is too sweet, and I used less sugar in my recipe. She made the caramel sauce look so easy. I followed the recipe directions to the letter, but the second I added the cream and butter it seized and turned into a big hard ball. I was going to look for another caramel sauce recipe while the crumble was baking in the oven, but since it is too sweet, I think adding caramel sauce to it would make it cloyingly sweet. Won't make this again.
