Very easy to make and light and refreshing for summertime. However, if I were to make it again I would use sweetened applesauce instead of unsweetened and use vanilla yogurt over plain. I felt it needed a little added sweetness. I did enjoy this as is though.

Insanely easy to make. Great flavor with very few ingredients. My children rave over this and will actually clean their plates nightly to get a portion. Do they realize it is only unsweetened applesauce? No, and that is the best part!

I really enjoyed it! Made this as an afterschool snack for my teens. They loved it...along with my two one year old twins. I didn't have lemon juice...so, squeezed some pineapple juice instead. Didn't have yogurt..so, just mixed the syrup and cinnamon together & drizzled on top. I found it really sweet but, was quick & delicious!

This recipe is deceptively simple. So easy but so delicious. I never would have thought of this! Love it with or without the yogurt sauce.

I've been making this since it first showed. My kids love it. I recently adapted it for popcicles.

I can't say enough about this recipe - its brilliant. The combination of the tartness of the applesauce and the creaminess and slight sweetness of the maple yogurt is wonderful. The whole family loved it, and we will be making this throughout summer since it is such a quick, light, and cooling dessert. I used Mott's jarred no sugar added applesauce, and did not have lemon on hand so added some fresh lime which added a nice flavor. I doubled the yogurt sauce recipe and used half vanilla yogurt and half plain yogurt, since the kids like a bit more sweetness. One tip - do not freeze this for long or you will have an extremely hard frozen block of applesauce that is difficult to shave into granita. Probably an hour or two in the freezer is sufficient.

This was so easy to make and delicious! It was very refreshing and my kids loved it. (even my oldest who is the absolute pickiest eater walking the planet! Honestly, I was shocked it went over so well with kids but that is why I love Melissa's show! Of course, I could not tell them what was in it until they finished or they would not have eaten such a healthy dessert. Just to let people know- I did use the unsweetened applesauce and sugar-free maple flavored syrup (because i have a 3 year old juvenile diabetic daughter and with these changes it was still great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (all these exclamation points were typed by my oldest who told me I just had to write a review for this. Keep them coming Melissa and THANK YOU!!!
