First of all it cost me a lot to make, 2.99 for applesauce, 2.69 for Yogurt, Over 7.00 for the maple syrup and of course I had the other ingredients but that was over 13.00 on just one item so that meal couldn't be cooked for 10.00.
My daughter said it was the texture she hated and the flavors just did not mix welll.
But I do love Melissa and was pulling for her to win all along. This is just one recipe and I plan to try others. I am glad most people who left a review liked it. I want her show to succeed but I had to be honest in my review.

My family loved this dessert. It is nice and light after a big meal. It's a perfect ending to any dinner! The sauce definitely makes this dessert a winner! I would recommend scraping the granita with a fork in stages if you are going to make this ahead of time and plan on leaving it in the freezer over an hour because if you don't it gets very frozen and is hard to fluff.

Once I saw this on the show, I couldn't wait to make it. It was so easy and quick. Great recipe for a summer night. We love dessert but are trying to stay healthy. This recipe satisfied my sweet tooth and yet I didn't feel guilty for having dessert.

On a side note, I was very happy for Melissa when she won. I'm a stay at home mom as well and am inspired by Melissa's ability to make wonderful food for the family. I love to bake but Melissa's recipes having me trying to cook more. Thank you! Keep the good stuff coming!!

Excellent! We are a retired couple on a fixed income and have tried all of the
recipes shown on Ten Dollar Dinners with Melissa. I rave about the Chicken
receipts and also the African meatballs. I have even put together the meatballs
and froze them for future use. Would like to see more of the $ten dollar dinners
and also enjoy the freshness of Melissa d'Arabian

Very easy to make and very light. I used double the amount of maple syrup and it was the perfect amount of sweetness.

I love this new show! Melissa d'Arabian is so engaging and fun to watch. I really like her enthusiasm and what a great idea--Ten Dollar Dinners! We really need nutritious, inexpensive meals in this economy. We tried the Applesauce Granita with Maple Yogurt and it was very good! It sounded so unusual I had to try it and am glad I did. I did put more lemon juice in the applesauce than the recipe, but we like things tart and the contrast with the sweet yogurt (I had all the ingredients already except for the plain yogurt, so used vanilla yogurt instead was so refreshing. I plan to try this technique with other fruit sauces and yogurts, too. Great recipe, great show, great host! I look forward to more of these shows and more recipes to try.

My boyfriend surprised me with this dessert the other night after he made dinner - it was SO GOOD! The yogurt sauce was fantastic and it was light enough to eat after dinner, while being cool and refreshing. This is the perfect summer/light dessert. Can't wait to eat it again!!

I made this one after watching the show. It was the only recipe that I had everything to make. I will try the other. This was so nice a refreshing. The sauce on top makes the dish. The longer that sauce sits, the better it tastes. I would use sweetened applesauce though. My kids thought it to be too tart. I found it to be so lite and refreshing.

    Thanks, Melissa.

Wow! This took almost no time to prepare--maybe 3 minutes, tops. As another reviewer said, it tasted like frozen apple pie. It was really delicious! I'm sure I'll make this recipe again and again.
