I loved it! My family did not like the cinnamon and I used too sweet of a wine, otherwise the flavor layers are spectacular. I just need to adjust for my family.

This lasagna is so delicious! I just made it for my fiance for Valentine's Day, and I could have not picked a better recipe to try! We are definitely putting this recipe away to use again and again...Thank you SO much for sharing this recipe!

The best lasagna I've ever made...and I've made a lot. My family loved it. Thank you, Melissa. This one has many dimensions of flavor. The carrots, bacon, wine, cheddar, bechamel, garlic, cottage cheese, all combine to add such good rich flavor, but the kicker is that cinnamon. I started to leave it out. I've never used cinnamon in a red sauce, but it adds the best flavor. The sharpness of the cheddar is just perfect. If you haven't tried it....don't knock it. It's great to think outside the box and try something different. The addition of cottage cheese or ricotta adds lightness to lasagna, but the cottage cheese adds more flavor than the ricotta in this recipe. I certainly wouldn't just use mozzarella. Too one dimensional for me.

This is a wonderfully forgiving and VERY tasty recipe. I made it three times because it was so popular. The first two times I messed up quantities of ingredients and/or the layering, but it didn't matter. Delicious. The third time was exactly according to plan and I served it at a party. Oh my gosh, I never had so many compliments on a lasagna!! And I live in Canada too and bought everything on special. The pricing is right, with only a small upwards adjustment because food is more expensive here. I'm thinking that nvandew bought EVERYTHING new, but I think the implied premise is that staples (oil, salt, etc. are not included, and you have to consider you are only using a portion of some of the other items you might have to buy, like cheese.

Lasagne with cottage cheese & chaddar cheese? What is this girl thinking? The meat sauce is fine, so is the bechamel. You don't need the cottage cheese at all. Make it all mozzarella & it will be most delicious. I had to post a rating for the site to take it. Otherwise, I would have given it a zero

I made this lasagna last week and loved it. It is creamy and flavourful. I opted not to remove the foil on top to lock in the moisture (I'm not big on crusty lasagna.

I would definitely recommend this recipe to my friends.

I am not sure where nvandew shops for food. I too am from Canada and I was more than able to shop as per Melissa's prime guidelines re 'buying on sale' and 'keeping a well stocked pantry' to stay within the ten dollar budget.

I love taking a recipe...getting new ideas and making it suitable for my family's taste. Creativity makes cooking so much more fun!

I loved the new ideas in this lasagna recipe and my creativity is working overtime.

This is not a ten dollar dinner. If all ingredients are purchased whole the total cost (in an urban Canadian market is $70.28. The cost per unit is $31.53 (spices not included in calculations.

Considering the premise of the show is a dinner for 10 dollars, this is very misleading.

I love several of Melissa's recipes and make them all the time, but not this one. My husband and I agreed it was okay, but would not make again. Too much work and expense for the outcome. The white sauce overpowered everything else. Couldn't even taste the marinara. Maybe if you halfed the bechamel, it would be better.
