I watched the entire episode. One fact that Melissa stresses was NOT to over pulse the beans in the food processor. She said they would turn "Runny" if they were over processed. I loved the fact the she served it with Romane lettuce leaves. What a great idea. Bib lettuce cups would be nice also. However the Bib type might be more expensive. I can not wait to try this.

I'm not sure I would call this hummus because there is no tathini, but it is an awesome blackbean dip! Served this for a small group tonight and we all loved it! Not only is it tasty and low-cal, but I I really appreciated that you used lettuce to dip it with! It's also great with celery and carrots.

I love hummus and was I surprised to find that my pantry had all I needed to make it. That is what is so special about her show; not having to buy special items that you don't normally use is a big plus with food costs rising. Yeah!

My husband and I caught the tail end of the show and were instantly hungry from watching her cook. He left for the store right after and got the makings for the bb hummus. We missed how she made it, we used canned black beans. The hummus was a bit runny (we weren't able to let it set, had to try it right away but the flavor was refreshing and the lettuce was perfect for keeping it all light.
Thank you for the wonderful twist within a great budget range!
