Two words: Easy and Fabulous!!! I also added a little garlic salt as one of the reviews stated because I love garlic. Will definitely be making these again soon.

Made some changes. Boiled potatoes in water with lipton onion soup mix. After boiling, drizzle with butter, seasoned salt and mrs dash and a squirt of hot sauce for a little kick. Blend well. Great dish

I love these potatoes. I often use the little bags of multicolored potatoes and it works great. Sometimes I add garlic to the butter and sometimes just a bay leaf to the cooking water. I always salt the water and then let the outside brown up in the butter as the final step.

I made these today and added the dill as someone else suggested because I was out of parsley. I liked it but I also added a little old bay seasoning and white pepper to the boiling water just for fun. Then I drizzled the butter over, added dill and a little garlic, shook it up lightly to coat and yum yum!

My daughter made these for us while I did the pot roast. They were excellent. We'd never cooked potatoes like this before so I, for one, am glad glad Melissa throws a few simpler dishes into the mix.

I truly dislike reading the reviews that criticize Melissa personally---on and on and on...ugh.

Thanks for bringing us delicious intermediate recipes, EASY ones like this, and for all the extra tips you give us. For the naysayers who brought this recipe's rating down simply because they were offended due to its simplicity, you are very rude, and inappropriately rating recipes. I have been cooking for decades, and consider myself to be a good cook. Believe it or not, I've never made boiled red or new whole potatoes because I don't like potatoes (and white potatoes are very low in nutrition. Besides, there are many young, new cooks among the readers!

I am quite amazed that a recipe is even needed for this but i guess some people need to be taught how to boil potatoes. I have been making these for years i usually buy the smallest red potatoes i can find BOIL them put butter in mash up some fresh garlic and instead of parsley i use dill. Yummy and so easy
