Great recipe! The pork is really moist & tender. Don't skip the last step of frying the meat, as it really adds more flavor/texture and adds a lot to the overall dish.

This recipe is absolutely delicious! It is so good, that we served it at our 25th wedding anniversary party as part of a buffet. We had fresh tortillas and the guests made taco's out of it. It was the food hit of the party! The pico de gallo is the BEST! I also leave the seeds in the jalepeno, and add more salt to the pork in the crock pot. Great Recipe.

This is really yummy! I didn't add orange zest to the rice, as I don't care for the taste of orange. It was delicious and a great dinner! P: mmm-mmm

I wasn't sure I was going to like this, but I'm giving it one of my rare 5* ratings. It was absolutely great! I slow cooked the pork a full 10 hrs. with everything called for including the orange & jalepeno which was one of the reasons I was afraid I wouldn't like it. Neither provided an overpowering taste. I used lime zest in the rice in lieu of the orange zest and used a 4-cheese Mexican blend in lieu of the cheddar. And I totally forgot the black beans, but I know the recipe will be even better the next time I make it again and add them. Just a really good Mexican recipe. Melissa is becoming one of my all-time favorites!

This was great - only I didn't have carnitas. I used leftover roast chicken but browned it (skinless in a little bit of oil in a pan. It got crispy on the one side and it was a great way to use leftover chicken and it was so good!!! Also, what a nice presentation. Everyone enjoyed it. The orange/ cilantro rice really adds a lot to the depth of flavor and it's so easy!

My husband turned his nose up to the white rice and said " I just want mine in a taco". I convinced him to eat it in a bowl the way it was intended. Well, HE LOVED IT! Thanks Melissa for the great dinner Idea. I will make this again.

SO GOOD! At first, I thought it was kinda weird frying the meat after it cooked all day, but it really does give it a delicious flavor and texture. They only had huge shoulders at the store, so instead I used a pork loin roast. I didn't have time to make the pico de gallo, so I used storebought salsa, but I will definitely make the pico de gallo next time. For the black beans I sauted some finely chopped onions and garlic first, then added the black beans, S&P, some oregano and cidar vinegar. Will definitely make this again!!

These burrito bowls were delicious. But I would have to agree with others that this meal costs more than $10 to make and I had alot of the ingredients already on hand. Still this is a favorite in our house.
