loved it!! it was about $10 for us, found pork shoulder on sale for $4.50 and didn't use avocado in the salsa because my husband doesn't like it. i wasn't going to crisp it in the pan after the slow cooker but my husband thought we should so it did and definitely worth it.

Delicious!!! The Pico de Gallo was absolutely WONDERFUL (best I have ever had..and that says a lot because I am from Texas and know how Tex Mex food should taste! The entire dish (bowl was a family hit. Even my 7 year old Granddaughter asked for seconds and she usually does not eat pork. Thanks Melissa for a GREAT MEAL!

This was really tasty! For me it was a $10 meal - I got the rice and beans from the dollar store. The pork was on sale buy one get one so it really only cost approx. $4.50. The avacado I skipped because right now they are out of season. I added a pepper in my black beans along with oregano and a bay leaf. I will be making this again.

We have these items on hand anyway.Yesterday, our grocer had Pork on sale.We don't eat cilantro except what my sister~in~law gives us.We put in from the recipe what we have "on hand".I view Melissa's Ten Dollar Meals as a template for what is in the fridge, not what we must buy.Maybe that will quell the problems w/Others complaints!

This is my new favorite recipe. It is so easy to make, and make ahead. I got my pork for $1.99 a pound, so it was really inexpensive to make. Watch your sales!

This was a very good dinner and relatively easy to make even though it's a long list of ingredients. My husband, who loves Chipotle, thought it was awesome. I loved the flavors of the meat, beans, avocado, cilantro and orange. Somehow the meat lost a little saltiness, so I think I would add a little more salt next time. We had enough left over for burritos for lunch the next day. I have to agree with everyone here -- I don't care how much you get on sale - this is NOT a $10 dinner. The meat alone was about $7 and that doesn't include the beans, avocado, jalapeno, cilantro, rice, cheese, sour cream, etc. AND the chocolate nachos at the end!!! I wish the producers would just give Melissa a new name for her show b/c she is awesome.

This recipe has amazing flavor! I followed the recipe exactly except that I made the pork in the slow cooker and shredded it on Sunday and then finished the pork and made the rice and pico de gallo on Monday. The combination of all the different parts is just extraordinay!! I was surprised how much the orange zest added to the rice and complimented the pork. I had no problem with browning the shredded pork. I used just a little oil in a non-stick frying pan and it came out perfectly. I can't say enough to express how much I loved this dinner.

We liked this. Definitely keeping in our rotation. Based on the comments, I changed the cumin to equal parts cayene and paprika. I did put a bit of oregano because I was concerned with the orange I might need the oregano. We skipped the beans because we're not a bean family, substitued a red bell pepper ( bought at Costco and half a yellow onion sauteed separately and topped off with cheese that we always keep.
