I saw this being made over the weekend and what attracted me most was the method she used for achieving lump free fluffy homeade mash potatoes and I thought it was worth a try. Although I didnt follow the recipe to a T, (I kept it simple with just potatoes, cream, salt and butter I used her sieve method and quite frankly, it was a pain in the tail but it really produced a perfect fluffy mashed potato and was worth the effort. Very Good , I would do it again.

Had to use some milk to thin them out a bit, the buttermilk made them super dense. Other than that no problems! Everyone loved them including my Dad who makes "the best mashed potatoes ever" -he asked me for the recipe!!!
P.s. the mesh strainer technique didn't work for me but using a hand mixer at the end makes for super smooth & fluffly potatoes, just don't overmix!

I thought my recipe for mashed potatoes was perfect until I tried these. I had the buttermilk on hand for the fried chicken so I decided to try Melissa's recipe. These potatoes were so good, I don't think I will ever make mashed potatoes my old way again. The whole family gave this tasty new side dish 5 stars!
