I did NOT try the salad but did make the main course and dessert. Both were over budget, waaaaay over budget and boring, bland and tasteless.
Sorry, Melissa, I was very excited to try your recipes.

The torte was thick, heavy and blah and the dessert tasted like applesauce, plain ole' frozen applesauce. My kids ate it on a graham cracker but still were not impressed.

I wanted to see what people THOUGHT about the recipe AFTER they made it, but wading through 76 reviews, many are rating the show or Melissa and not the food. False rating, IMO.

This is for real? Am I to believe that this many people have no clue how to make a salad? Is it any wonder why obesity is such a problem in this country? Idiotic, clueless women who think going to McDonalds is going 'out for dinner'. No clue how to boil an egg, much less make dinner that isn't out of a box. I surely hope all stay at home mom's aren't that clueless or inept in the kitchen.

This recipe gets big fat zero. Nothing new here, and certianly nothing that takes any talent to make. I predict she won't get a second season, and the end can't come too soon.

This is so simple, yet to flavorful. I think the key is using the best vinegar you can find. Great recipe- thank you Melissa!

I made the salad dressing. I was unsure about the soy sauce, but you were right. It tasted great. I'm making it again tonight. Thanks Melissa.

Believe it or not, there is an Italian restaurant in Cabo San Lucas which also adds soy sauce, but to its Ceasar salad dressing. Have been using this secret ingredient ever since I found out about it and it is a super addition. No need to salt either as it has enough saltiness already. Keep up the good tips.

Love this dressing and love Melissa. Null's comment sounds like sour grapes to me ... perhaps one of the other contestants?

Loved the salad dressing recipe. I do not use iceberg lettuce for salads.

The one item I have never made and missed the recipe, Applesauce Granita with Maple Yogurt.

I finally can relate to a show. I like this because you are a home cook plus a mother. My granddaughter was rooting for you the who contest. I put you up there with Rachel Ray 30 Minute Meals.

    God Bless.

I usually have salad for lunch so I made this dressing and it is delicious and really easy! This would be good marinated in chicken too. I was rooting for Melissa the whole time.
