Not so great. The caramelized bananas added an odd sweet flavor to the shake which was unappetizing

I followed this recipe perfectly and came out with nothing better than an average shake. I had three teenagers crazy about banana shakes (whose favorite is Culver's, and not one of them finished their "bland" shake. This is the first d'Arabian recipe that really didn't impress a single person.

Here's recipe for baking in oven that was on site earlier & how I watched it prepared on TV. I made it, yum! Add a pinch or so of cardamom for a bit of Aarti! I don't know about the dispute about skillet/butter version vs. this oven version, but this oven one is perfect! You don't need the butter.

    Caramelized Banana Shake

    Ingredients
    Nonstick cooking spray
3 small or 2 large ripe bananas, halved lengthwise
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 cup ice
    1 cup vanilla ice cream
    1 cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, for garnishing

Directions: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Place the bananas on the sheet and sprinkle with the sugar. Bake the bananas until the sugar is caramelized, about 15 minutes. Let the bananas cool slightly. Mix the ice, ice cream, milk, vanilla and bananas in a blender until smooth but still thick. Pour the shake into 4 chilled glasses and sprinkle with the cinnamon.

This is not the recipe she made on tv. If made as Melissa did on tv this is delicious & I rate 5 stars but for the person who posted the recipe wrong for her 0 stars. She caramelized the bananas in butter & brown sugar in a skillet not in oven. Looked like it was approximately 2 tablespoons of butter & 1 to 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Whoever posts these recipes needs to pay attention to the chefs recipes & proof read. This happens way to often!
