I'm only giving it 3 stars because maybe I did something wrong. I followed the recipe but my filling came out like soup. It looked nothing like hers on the show. Should it have only been 1/2 cup of chicken stock? I'm really disappointed. This recipe looked pretty simple and mine still didn't come out right.

I made this for the first time last night for my husband and I as we had left over chicken from a store bought rotisserie one. I took the advice in the reviews and reduced the amount of thyme. I also didn't have any puff pastry dough but substituted a store bought tube of crescent rolls instead. My husband loved it!!!! I plan on making it again but am planning on adding just a pinch more salt and pepper to the seasoning and will also add some diced potatoes to the recipe. This recipe is very tasty and so easy! Try it! It will make even first time cooks look like they've been doing this for years!

Loved it!! Very easy to make and my whole family, even my three year old son gobbled it up : It did make a lot of filling so I made 8 turnovers not 4, which gave us leftovers for lunches the next day. Try it!!!

This is terrific! It makes a great deal, however. We used 1/2 a box to make 4 turnovers and had enough to make 4 more and then some. If you don't want to buy more puff pastry this mixture is killer on halved biscuits! So easy my 7 year old graddaughter helpd make the second batch.

Did not have wine available, but was delicious regardless. Kids picky about veggies, I'm considering pureeing them next time as part of the gravy? Six yr. old didn't care for the thyme but loved helping to make... filo dough made it special!

really good. 1. I tripled the recipe and therefor had waaay too much liquid so I threw in cornstarch to thicken after about 30 mins of boiling not simmering with no chance of thickening 2. I did not use any wine since I really don't like foods cooked with wine 3. I used EVOO instead of butter so it could be kosher but was really happy to find a chicken pot pie recipe that was not based on dairy for the sauce 3. I cooked the diced chicken breasts with the vegetables in step one since I did not have any cooked chicken 4.I do not have anything close to the dexterity of being able to use filo dough so after about 5 misshapen balls I grabbed a pan and lined it with filo dough dumped the rest of the filling in then threw more filo dough on top. I also added some sage with the thyme. Had FIL and BIL over for dinner and every one LOVED it.

I made this last night for my husband. He LOVED them (he ate 2 1/2 so I will make again. I put my chicken breast in the oven with EVOO, salt and pepper to roast up since I didn't have chicken already cooked. I also put mushrooms in. I also made sure my thyme wasn't ground and added a small palmful. They were already in the oven when I realized that I didn't do the egg wash but they browned great without it. Thanks Melissa!

I was pleasantly surprised I pulled this one off. I've never worked with puff pastry before so I wasn't sure how it would turn out. I need to work on perfecting the art of working with puff pastry but nevertheless, the culinary results were great. Very flaky and tasty. I acidentally threw in 2 cups of chicken (I used rotisserie and threw in 4 oz. of sliced mushrooms that I had in the frig. So there's leeway for playing around with the filling. Make it what you want it to be.

These were very good.....my kids, 3 and 6, loved them, as well as the adults! The assembly was a bit difficult though. I didn't see the show and wasn't quite sure what 20% increase in size meant. Also, it would have helped to know what amount, in cups, of filling to put in. So, even though I split the mixture in quarters, my turnovers were still overstuffed. Nevertheless, the flavor made up for these technical errors!!
