it take a while... I added ground Italian turkey sausage to the cheese and corn for the stuffing. I also beat the egg whites and flour together then added the yoke and i didnt have a problem with it sticking... my family loved it!

It was good, the batter is a little tricky to get it to stay on, but other than that, I thought it was good.

The corn and cheese mixture in the filling is a wonderful combination. Restaurant quality!

OMG...So for starters I made this one night when I was all alone and hungry not a good combination because it is so time consuming BUT it is all worth it. I have to say one of the easiest things to make and sooo tasty! The tricky part is the batter but once you get that down you are good. You will love this recipe. I cannot wait to try it with different fillings! Love Love Love!

This is an awesome meal!! Please consider doing everythig you can ahead of time. Such as the rice, and the red sauce. And do not over cook your chiles. Make sure your oven rack is close enough to blister quickly.
Enjoy this meal! I am from Calif. and know mexican food. This is better than most busines's.

I have been a fan of Melissa's since the beginning and I have never been disappointed until today. I made her chiles rellenos, one of my husband's fav recipes, and it was a disaster. I feel I am pretty good cook (at least a pretty good recipe follower and it was horrible. The peppers turned out too mushy to handle. I did have to prepare mine in the oven, under the broiler. But the peppers were so delicate. The peppers were just too friable after roasting that when I attempted to remove the seeds I pretty destoyed the pepper. It was a lot of work for not. The tomato sauce and rice were flavorful. I was really disappointed because I have tried at least 15 of Melissa's recipes and all of them have been wonderful. This one, however, was a dud!!

    Fantastic recipe.
I removed the corn becuase I do not like corn mixed into recipes.
It took about 90 monutes precooking preparation but the flavor was worth it! I think it was even better than the authentic Mexican resturants I have had in California!

As a lover of chiles rellenos, I can say I've eaten a lot. These were, by far, the best I've ever had. I'd say it was well worth the effort. However, I can see why other people wouldn't want to. I don't think it was too difficult, but it's not exactly easy. But, if you really like chiles rellenos, you have to try this.

Also, a tip: when I mixed the yolks and flour, it made a big clump. I had to mix maybe 1/4 tsp of water in to get it smooth before folding.
