My preschool granddaughter is a picky breakfast eater. She and I made this early one morning, and it was ready to eat when she was ready for breakfast. Not a traditional breakfast, for sure, but a delicious one for rare morning occasions.

Made this tonight, as I needed an easy dessert to take to my in-laws. Everyone loved it! I can't eat dairy, so I substituted the 1/4 cup cream and milk for 3/4 cup soymilk. Added an extra egg yolk for richness and served it for the others with cool whip since I didn't have cream. Will definitely fix this again! Thanks Melissa for giving us another simple, yet creative and delicious recipe.

My husband wanted me to make this and we thought it was good but not quite sweet enough for us. Maybe next time it would be good to drizzle a little warm chocolate sauce over it.

This was just what I was looking for. The wonderful chocolate flavor satisfied that chocolate craving & was so easy to make. I had all the ingredients on hand but used fat free half & half instead of the cream & I would do that again. This would be a great dessert to serve company.

How fabulous was this easy dessert! Great chocolate with a custard texture. With a dollop of whipped cream, it was divine. I also sprinkled some pecans into the pain perdu before baking. Wow! Thanks, Melissa.

I loved this bread pudding. Although I did use ciabatta bread slices instead of white, and I sprinkled in some white chocolate chips and almond slices in between layers. I only let the mixture set 30 minutes before baking, and it is fabulous! The whipped cream on top is excellent. A chocolate lovers heaven!
